horsegiirL: NATURE IS HEALING (2026)
Stella Stallion is a half-horse, half-human DJ who grew up on Sunshine Farms. She is, put simply, very committed to the bit. The Berlin-based artist never appears without her horse mask, has songs called things like “Farmcore,” “Material Hor$e,” and “My Barn, My Rules,” and her fans are called “Farmies.” But she’s more than just performance art. With production credits by PC Music-affiliates A.G. Cook and Casey MQ, NATURE IS HEALING blends Ray of Light-era Madonna, 2010s EDM pop, and 80s new age to make a genuinely compelling debut album. It’s silly but also sincere, inspired by an ayahuasca trip (eye roll) in Ecuador when Stella realized we’re all here on Earth together and should take care of each other, a message that—despite its cringe origins—no one can disagree with. I’m pairing the album with Jorum Studio’s Pony Boy, which is similarly absurdist and committed to the bit, and also inspired by horses—in this case, a shape-shifting water horse from Scottish folklore. The bright notes of rhubarb, pink grapefruit, and pink lotus conjure the album’s upbeat electronic side, while the more grounding notes of beetroot, vetiver, and cedar speak to its sincere naturalistic message.
